Hello everyone,
right now im using a GeForce 4 TI4200 graphics card by Triplex Corp.

I havent been able to actually play yet (downloading the files) but i cant see the background that is supposed to have stuff such as the boat or character creation stuff. I cant see any of that stuff. i can choose from the proffessions and choose hair style etc but the actual character doest appear at all. On the first screen, the background is just a color that keeps on alternating seemingly randomly.

anyway, if I do indeed need to get a better graphics card, twould not be amiss, but twould be pocket-heavy, so if you have suggestions please post below

If I remember correctly the Ti4200 is a DirectX8 card. Try adding the -dx8 switch after your Guild Wars shortcut. Like this :-

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -dx8

Make sure you remember to leave a space after the quotation mark and before the -dx8.

I would, however, recommend that you get a card with a bit more kick to it if possible. Guild Wars will barely run on that card and it's rather light on system requirements for a current-gen game.
